Brewery:William Bull Brewery
Country:Australia
Tap/Bottle?:bottle
Where/When:Home, May 2011

Rating:6/10

Nice white head, pale light gold colour.
A bit of straw comes thru along with a touch of fruit (apple & a hint of lemon) and finishes with a bit of spice at the end/tip of the tongue.
Clean and fairly smooth, easy enuf to drink- not too offensive but nothing particularly outstanding all the same- fairly high carbonation.

Anchor Liberty Ale

Style:American Pale Ale
Alc %:6.0
Brewery:Anchor Brewing
Country:CA, USA
Tap/Bottle?:bottle
Where/When:09
Cost:approx $2
Rating:9

Cloudy copper appearance with an nice fluffy head.
bit of sweet apricot on the nose.
ohhh i like this, a bit of sweet maltiness-the apricot is there but not to sharp
so, clean, fruity and malty.
This could be the pale ale i've been looking for, more citrusy than pine-y
really very drinkable and moreish. Fairly high alcohol level but i would totally have this for a session beer 100%.

Tried 3 beers tonite:
Harpoon UFO Pale Ale 5.3%

Harpoon Leviathan IPA (Imperial) 10%

The Pale Ale was OK, solid example tho not very fruity.
The Wet Hope was OK, hot over hoppy.

Holgate Mt Macedon Pale Ale

Style:Pale Ale
Alc %:4.5
Brewery:Holgate Brewery
Country:Australia
Tap/Bottle?:Tap
Where/When:The Local, 3/10/09
Cost:$13 as part of a flight
Rating:4/10

Wooh toffee honey nose. Nice amber colour.
A smoky musty initial taste- different to what I've tasted before- kinda weird really- there's something that I can't put my finger on that I've tasted but I can't name it.
Overall I don't really like it 4/10

Flight of 5

L to r
Budvar Czech Pilsner,
Holgate Mt Macedon Pale Ale,
Trumer Pils ( but was in fact, Five Islands Barbeerian Wit),
Mountain Goat Spicy Duck Nuts,
Bridge Road Imperial Porter.

The flight cost $13 at The Local on 3/10/09.
So overall nothing blew me away with these 5 beers-still worth trying tho!
